Web Developer/Software Engineer

Do you want to be part of a ground floor, funded and growing web startup? isocket is adding a few amazing people to our small team as we grow to meet exploding customer demand. We're building an advertising platform to help sites like TechCrunch (our first customer) sell their own ads.

isocket is looking for incredibly talented web developers to join our Burlingame, CA based team. You should be experienced but still hungry, results oriented and passionate about working on a great technical product. We use the LAMP stack, PHP 5, a framework, and all the standard tools.

"Responsible for successful product development" is an understatement - you'll be a key part of one of the few growing and funded early stage startups in the Valley. This is a unique opportunity for exceptional people. You're getting in on the ground floor of a project that has a list of customers waiting to use our product.

The Job

• Build an amazing web application. We'll fit you to your strengths, but the range of work is wide. Most of your time will be on web development and product decisions. Our core backend is in PHP 5 using Symfony, a MVC framework.
• Deliver - quickly and efficiently. There's a lot of exciting development our customers are waiting for!
• You'll be a part of the planning and strategy of our product.
• Test. We're built to learn. Analyze what's been done, improve it, repeat.
• Wear many hats - you'll listen to customers, roadmap features, make technical decisions, get stuff done, etc.
• Champion an engineering culture of customer-driven products, efficiency and innovation.

Requirements

• Relevant time and experience ( >3 years ) as a developer with excellent references.
• Relevant experience with building web applications / SaaS products.
• Great web developer, experience with PHP, Linux, MySQL, etc. If you are excellent with comparable web languages (RoR, Java, etc), and are willing to make the switch, that's fine too!
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.

Extra Credit

• Have worked at a startup or similarly agile company.
• Experience building advertising oriented products.
• You've been an entrepreneur. Did it succeed? Great. Did it fail? That's OK too.
• Active in the community - real life, open source, etc.
